Founded in 1895, during a time where Los Angeles was just a western city boasting a population of around 70,000, Jonathan Club had started as a modest social Club in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Over the past century, Jonathan Club has established itself as the flagship of the west coast. Most often, when booking Jonathan Club as their wedding venue, bride and grooms typically choose to host their wedding ceremony on the Rooftop Terrace. It is located on the 13th floor and provides you with a quiet space that mutes the clamor of Downtown Los Angeles and has capacity for approximately 200 guests. Wedding Photographers love capturing the moment the couple says their “I Do’s” with the sea of skyscrapers in the background and without the hassle of avoiding the crowds and traffic. For those who have larger guest counts, Jonathan Club’s Rooftop Terrace can also serve as the perfect setting for an intimate first look, romantic sunset photos, and family photos.
The Main Dining Room, Florentine Lounge, and Reagan Room at Jonathan Club are among three of the most popular indoor wedding venues on site. Each room is filled with historic architecture from ornate coffers in the ceilings to the incredible masonry. The Florentine Lounge has been hosting events since 1925 and is equipped with a high leather molded ceiling, newly installed gold cloth walls, and exquisite hand carved wood with large pieces of art mounted to the walls. It serves as a great wedding ceremony venue for your intimate Los Angeles wedding. We have also seen other couples host their cocktail hour in the Florentine Lounge before transitioning to the Main Dining Room for reception, or even as the room to hold the buffet tables for reception. The built-in bar in the Florentine Lounge is the perfect regal touch in such a historic venue.
Another alternative space to host a cocktail hour would be the Reagan Room, the space has included lounge pieces set like a traditional tea room, and even has a baby grand for a pianist to play live music. After enjoying cocktails in the Reagan Room your guests will transition across the hall the Main Dining Room for dinner and dancing. The Main Dining Room has stunning high ceilings with incredible woodwork throughout the room.
